Are you a strategic financial leader looking to make a lasting impact on local government? Due to an upcoming retirement, the Village of Villa Park is seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Director to oversee key financial functions, drive fiscal responsibility, and help shape the future of our community.  The Village is looking for candidates with strong leadership and interpersonal skills; a servant leader and a municipal professional whose guidance regarding financial considerations will inform the decisions of the Village Manager and Village Board of Trustees.  The Finance Director serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the Village and on the Firefighter Pension Fund Board. 

The Village of Villa Park (22,263) is a non-home rule community ideally located as an inner-western suburb of Chicago, with direct access to downtown Chicago and the suburban region.  Residents enjoy a small-town atmosphere, highlighted by excellent schools and superior village services.  The Village’s 2025 budget is $92 million with a General Fund balance of $12.5 million (150 days of expenditures).  The General Fund budget is $32 million with a planned capital improvement investment of $24 million. 

A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, public administration, or related field. Master’s Degree and Certified Public Accountant   A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in executive-level financial administration in the public sector.  Candidates must be able to successfully pass a background screening.
